International projects
Exchange programs open the door to limitless growth!
Participation in international exchange programs such as Erasmus+ and Nordplus offers invaluable opportunities for growth for everyone — teachers, administrators, and students alike.
The Erasmus program promotes lifelong learning, supporting education as well as personal and professional development across Europe and beyond. Meanwhile, the Nordplus project aims to create a shared educational space across the Nordic and Baltic countries and to improve the quality of education.
We have chosen our international exchange partners very carefully — experienced schools that have been sharing their knowledge and expertise for decades.
Queen Morta School’s leaders, educators, and students have visited various European countries, focusing on topics such as project development, mentoring, coaching, and educational innovation. Through this collaboration, they have gained valuable insights applicable to everyday education, familiarized themselves with best practices, process organization, and the creation of work and cultural environments.
International partnerships are important not only for us but also for our partners.
This academic year, Queen Morta School welcomed guests from Iceland, Italy, and other countries who came to learn from our experience.
Participation in international exchanges is an investment in the future — it opens new opportunities, fosters personal and professional growth, drives innovation, and enriches the entire educational community.
As the 2023–2024 academic year comes to a close, we are proud to celebrate the success of the Nordplus and Erasmus+ international projects at Queen Morta School.
A total of 54 students, teachers, and administrators participated in training sessions held across 9 countries. We spent 232 days studying abroad, dedicated 1,216 hours to professional development overseas, and collaborated with 6 outstanding schools.
We are proud that through the Nordplus and Erasmus+ projects, we not only had the exceptional opportunity to learn, strengthen professional connections, and gather new ideas, but also to share our own knowledge and extensive experience.
We are motivated and “fresh” after our visit. The positive atmosphere that we experienced during the communication between teachers and students is something that I will remember and prioritize in my future interactions with teachers when they approach me with concerns about students. I want my teachers to behave the same way when interacting with our students.
We gained valuable insights into innovative teaching methods and strategies for developing student communication and collaboration skills. For instance, we learned how to incorporate technology such as AI, develop exceptional communication skills through passion projects, and set high expectations for students. I also think that this collaboration between teachers from different countries opens up a world of new opportunities and enhances teacher professionalism.
During our visit to your school, we observed the students’ respect and behaviour, and we believe we can achieve more here in Iceland. The teaching focused mainly on the students’ independence and the need for them to carefully consider what they are doing, evaluate it, and explain it simultaneously. The English and writing classes were excellent. We truly enjoyed our visit to your school; it made a lasting impression. We felt a great ambition to do more and better. We want to set higher goals and expect more from our teaching.
Thank you for a really great visit. We learned so many great things that we took with us and are looking forward to trying at our school.
