Students from Kaunas Queen Morta School (QMS), together with guests from Futuraskolan International Bergtorp in Sweden, participated in the second part of the “Nordplus” project, filled with meaningful activities, joyful moments, and new discoveries.

The students spent a week participating in language workshops, where they developed their Lithuanian and Swedish language skills, took part in creative art workshops learning about the works of Jonas Mekas and Fluxus ideas, and at the National Music Museum, they sang Lithuanian sutartinės (traditional songs) and tried out the kanklės (zither) and skudučiai (flutes).

The activities took place not only at the school – during orienteering competitions in Kaunas, the students explored the Old Town and museums, in Vilnius, they searched for important historical landmarks, and at the MO Museum, after viewing the exhibit “From the Inside,” they delved into the emotional meaning of artworks. During debates, QMS students and Swedish guests discussed the importance of languages and cultural exchange, developing their debating skills and cultural awareness.

Daily reflections allowed students to reflect on the knowledge gained and share insights. This project demonstrated that learning takes place not only in the classroom but also beyond it – through cultural experiences, creativity, collaboration, and open dialogue. Such experiences nurture conscious, creative, and responsible global citizens. We are confident that this week’s experience will serve as a strong foundation for the students’ future educational steps.
