Clubs help children develop healthily and grow as individuals. Scientific research shows that children who engage in extracurricular activities tend to have greater self-confidence and are less likely to experience violence from others. We recommend that every child participate in at least one club, where they can test their limits and explore their potential. All clubs take place in one location – our school.

In Vilnius the oldest students are twelfth graders. Queen Morta School in Kaunas is offering eduacation from grades 1 to 10.
The usual duration of a lesson is one academic hour (45 minutes). However, at Queen Morta School, there is no bell — lesson length is regulated by the teachers, who observe the students and their rhythm throughout the day and individually decide how much time to allocate to a specific topic.
- In the primary school, we do not assign traditional homework, as we believe that children should fully engage with the curriculum content during school hours. Foreign language teachers assign homework that helps reinforce knowledge gained in class.
- In middle school, homework becomes essential. Students are more frequently given creative and critical thinking tasks.
- Every Queen Morta School student is expected to read at home — at least 20 minutes every day.
- If a child or their parents would like additional individual assignments to complete at home, teachers are happy to prepare them.
At Queen Morta School, we talk with children not only about their rights but also about their responsibilities. We treat children with respect and expect the same behavior from them. Since we set learning goals, it is up to all of us—teachers, students, and parents—to work together to achieve them. We understand that internal motivation is more powerful than external pressure, so we help children understand the importance of learning—that we learn not for others (parents, teachers, grandparents, etc.), but for ourselves. Of course, there are days when learning feels more difficult than usual, but we hope that the next day the child will learn what they might have struggled with the day before.
At Queen Morta School, we work by encouraging positive behavior, and inappropriate behavior results in consequences. When instances of inappropriate behavior arise, we seek solutions together with the student, school specialists, and the family. In cases of repeated harmful behavior (both physical and emotional), and if the family refuses to cooperate with the school, the student may be expelled.
The International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme reflects QMS’s expectations for students graduating from school. From “Vaikystės Sodas” and the first grades at QMS, we instill a strong foundation of values, develop key competencies, and set high expectations for academic achievement—elements that are continued and reinforced by the IB Diploma Programme. We are confident that our graduates, having earned this diploma, will be academically well-prepared, globally minded young individuals ready to pursue studies at top universities.
The IB Diploma Programme is open to all students who have completed Grade 10. Since the programme is delivered in English, we expect every student beginning the QMS IB Diploma Programme to demonstrate at least a B2 level of English proficiency. If you feel that your language skills are not yet at that level, please consult with us. Admission decisions are always made based on the student’s overall readiness, character traits, and other relevant circumstances.
The experience of other schools shows that a large number of students who successfully complete the IB Diploma Programme continue their studies at well-regarded universities abroad. These universities are very familiar with the IB Diploma Programme: they are keen to admit students who demonstrate strong results because the programme follows consistent standards and very clear assessment criteria.
There are also excellent opportunities for those who wish to study in Lithuania, as IB exam results are converted into Lithuanian grades and entrance scores according to established rules. Furthermore, the personal qualities developed during the IB programme enable students to pursue serious academic ambitions at the university level.
We want as many children as possible to have the opportunity to study at one of the most advanced and modern schools in Lithuania. That’s why we invite motivated students—who are unable to afford tuition at a private school – to pursue an education recognized by universities and employers.
Observing the achievements of Queen Morta School scholarship recipients, we are confident: by nurturing creative, resilient, courageous, empathetic, and respectful individuals, we are gradually changing Lithuania for the better – day by day.
The scholarship application period runs from the beginning of May until mid-August. The number of places is limited, so contracts are signed with the first applicants who meet the criteria.
Try out the school! Register for an individual meeting, where you’ll have the opportunity to meet directly with the Queen Morta School team.
We understand that when choosing a school, not only academic achievements matter, but also the school’s values and philosophy. That’s why we invite you to get to know everything in person—discuss core principles together and see whether QMS is the right fit for you and your child.
