What is Lithuanian Language and Culture Education?

Lithuanian Education for School-Age Children

WHAT DO WE TEACH?

  • In primary school (Grades 1–4), Lithuanian Education subjects include the Lithuanian language and world studies.
  • In middle school (Grades 5–10), we teach Lithuanian language, Lithuanian history, and Lithuanian geography (starting from Grade 6).

The Lithuanian Language and Culture Education program at Queen Morta School aligns with the curriculum requirements specified in the National Education Plans for each grade level.

HOW DO WE TEACH?

Teachers meet with students in Grades 1–10 twice a week for 90-minute remote lessons (two combined periods): once on a weekday after school and once on weekend morning.
Up to 12 children participate in each class, giving them the opportunity to make Lithuanian-speaking friends. In addition to live lessons, children also study independently using assignments prepared by the teachers.

This unique and continuously refined Lithuanian Language and Culture Education program engages students without the use of textbooks or workbooks, using specially designed materials created by professional educators.
